Terrific follow up to one of the best metalcore albums from last year. While a change in rstyle is definitely evident, it also shows that Counterparts are able to deliver far more rthan expected of a band made up of such young members.

We should be able to change our ratings easier than this. I literally clicked the wrong one by accident on my phone because there isn?t a good mobile view of this website. So my big thumbs clicked the wrong one. But when I go to adjust the score, instead it brings up a whole new window and then we have to provide reasoning for changing our ratings??? I typed mis-click and it then says ?too short must be 50 words or more.? Come on. Let?s get with this decade please. We shouldn?t need reasonings to adjust a simple score. Also, get a mobile version of the site. Or even an app. Come. On.

Ye this one is less good than their next outputs. While their next albums all contains some very melodic riffs balancing the hardcore bursts, here, they fall flat. None of this is bad, but none of this is memorable.

"The Current Will Carry Us" is a kind of record that is good with multiple revisits. I remember the first time i listened to this album in 2011, and i found it very weak and without any differential. Okay, my taste at that time was pretty generic and Escape the Fate was one of my favorite bands (I only like the first record). Nowadays i get to enjoy a lot of what is one of the best works of the band. This may be the third record i most enjoy by them, but my rankings change from months to months.

This album is very good. I love the combination of hardcore and melodic metal with a tinge of punk influence. There is also a nice technicality to the album. The band weaves sporadic breakdowns that are short and sweet. The breakdowns themselves are technical mixed with a melodic feel and it just plain works. The vocals are very good aswell. Sometimes with screamers I find myself cringing, but that never happens in this album. His voice is filled with emotion and he can also convey a pretty good range. Will be enjoying this album for a very long time. I think track 10 and 11 should switch. I think the ending to "Sinking" would be perfect ending to the album. Favorite tracks: Sinking, The Constant, The Disconnect, Jumping Ship

I'm not sure what isn't to love about this band, everything seems to have improved from Prophets, which in and of itself was a fantastic record, but the uber-melodic nature of this album won me over almost instantly.

Nothing will ever make me not love this band. I still put Prophets slightly above this, but in time i'm sure i'll feel the same way about both albums. If you don't buy this album and support this band, then the hardcore scene is fucked.
