See, that's what happens when you rate your favourite albums of the year before the final week of December - an album like this arrives. I know Power Metal doesn't do it for everyone, but if you like this stuff then Theocracy are a revelation (no pun intended). This is nuanced, subtle, obvious, melodic, enormous, powerful, riff-laden, Dickensonesque, incredible Christian Power Metal. This is what Impelliteri should probably have been...

I'm not one to normally give Christian bands a chance...This band is a rare example of a "Christian Metal" group that i can actually listen too. They make sure the music is what comes first. It reminds me a lot of old Edguy at times. Anyway this album in particular is of important note. This album bleeds epicness (pun intended.). Songs like I Am, Master Storyteller, As The World Bleeds, I'm In A Cage are a great mix of epic and melodic. My personal favorite songs on the record are "Nailed" which to this day, Tobias Sammet is kicking himself for not writing. It's got a heavy as hell riff and a soaring chorus. And "The Gift Of Music" which to me, sounds like a perfect example of whatever the hell "Gospel Metal" should be. The vocal melodies and guitar solos are catchy as hell. r|I didn't care for the song "Light Of The World" it sounded like a filler track that was meant to exemplify the over the top power metal stereo type. With it's unnecessarily cheesy lyrics and it's goofy DragonForce-esque "woah-woah-woahs.
