3.5 great | IAmKickass | November 24th 11 | Teenage Time feels like one big "-core" experiment, just taking so many things you've heard attempted or sort of executed well and just using them to their advantage, sometimes it works and sometimes it doesn't but variety is definitely here. To some though it'd just seem awkward, and the rap based closer bonus track 'The Hardest Storm' along with the second to last dubstep experiment track 'You'll Better Keep Your Eyes Open' feel so out of place it's ridiculous, but being based at the end of the album kind of allows some acceptance. Now to the general sound, Madison Affair are catchy, capturing a generic sound in just enough entertaining fashion that it sort of ranks above what mostly comes out of the genre. Expect all the breakdowns and auto-tuned clean vocals to be predictable as hell, but just sit back and try to enjoy it without taking any of it to seriously. That's the only way this album really works.
