inconsistent all the way through, with both fantastic parts and fairly questionable parts. pretty solid release overall, though they definitely had more in them. and the frankie palmeri guest spot is surprisingly tolerable

This album has that Sumerian Records sound written all over it. They bring elements from their EP to this full-length feature and offer enough variety to not sound repetitive. Obviously if you know Structures, you know the time signatures are unique and differentiate compared from other 'metalcore' bands. You NEED to listen to this record. It will not disappoint....Oh and if you haven't listened to All of the Above EP, then DO IT NOW!

An extremely heavy album with a great guitar tone that is enjoyable to listen to, even if the clean vocals areas are very sudden and not transitioned well (except towards the end of the album). Many of the songs lack a good structure (pun intended) and just jump between breakdowns, but the exciting time signatures and guitar effects sort of make up for it. The production also needed to much better especially for this type of music.

Honestly this album is pretty great, but OH MY GOD the production sucks so bad its painful. Try listening to a variety of different albums and then listen to one of these songs and the quality difference is night and day. The production is so loud and muddy; it really brings down the music.

You guys are haters! Compared to the rest of the generic core crap out there this band definitely stands out. Incorporating heavy heavy breakdowns, crazy melodic lines, meaningful lyrics, very good singing and back up screams idk how this isn't getting better ratings. Ive met and seen these dudes play a total of 3 times now and every time its epic. Good live presence and sound. Really humble and chill dudes too.

Loving the hell out of this album right now. The punishing beats, great transitions, cool rtime signatures, spastic riffing, guttural vocals, even some pop punk sections thrown in for rgood measure! They keep you guessing the whole way trough while keeping their sound rconsistently heavy. Definitely worth a listen. rThe clean vocals are much better this time around, for the most part. His rsinging sometimes slips into a strange Tom DeLonge esque tone. Like he's jokingly singing rlike that. With the enunciated vowels and what not. When you hear it you'll know what i'm rtalking about. The production, however, is a total clip fest! So loud! So much fizz in the rmix its hard to hear the guitars at times. They need to remaster the recording and re-release rit or something because is that bad. I thought i had a bad copy at first but it sounds the rsame on iTunes.

production/recording quality is shit. It sounds like they botched all the guitar recordings and just tried to
cover up the unintentional clipping fuzz and distortion.

Despite the negative things I have to say about this, it's still an extremely fun listen and these kids are like 18 years old and are making more technical music than most of the veterans in the scene. Re-recorded songs, Frankie Palmeri guest vox, some questionable lyrics, and bad production quality bring this down a little but all in all it's a solid start for these guys.

sure it didnt sound like all of the above, but i think this is a much more mature approach by a talented group of canadian musicians. They werent trying to remake all of the above, they were trying to make something new and different to give them a more solid position in the music industry. i think its one hell of an album that really defines structures as a band. I try to avoid the joke of how a song by Structures has no structure but damn it's nearly impossible to not blurt it out when you listen to Divided By. Many of these songs sound as though the band went through their discography and copy-pasted random bits from it to form these new songs. The addition of clean vocals also brings the album down because they seem to pop out of nowhere. They really serve no purpose in the song especially when they are surrounded by breakdowns and grooves (on the verge of clipping, I might add), which creates a unavoidable sense of imbalance in the album. Seriously, listen to the first song on this album and then the last song...Is it the same band still?
