totally awsome this cannot be beaten in any way. The guitars are so original. Diamond Head shines once again!

Diamond Head's debut is far and away one of the cornerstones of heavy metal, period. With solid songwriting, impressive riffs and wicked leads, this album is nothing less than essential for metalheads.rThis album is also arguably the best metal album in the 1976-82 period not produced by Judas Priest or Iron Maiden.

Even though considered a great album, for some strange reason I had never heard it as NWOBHM wasn't my favorite genre. Great riffs, tight rhythm section and excellent vocals. I have to say that it's as great as The Number of the Beast, Strong Arm of the Law, etc.

Hasn't anyone made a review of this yet? I'm very, very surprised.
Seeing the influence they obviously had on Metallica (Am I Evil?, The Prince, It's Electric and Helpless were all covered on Garage Inc., nuff said), these guys will, despite having huge problems (mostly related to the way the record company treated them, not drugs) afterwards and never conjuring another masterpiece, always be a part of the Heavy Metal-elite.
Oh, and the album really does deserve all possible recognition. It really is a masterpiece. Such a shame that they never managed to follow it up.

A proto-thrash cult classic by a band that should have been huge, or dodgy fop metal that would have rightfully fallen into obscurity if not for Metallica? The answer, as usual, is somewhere in the middle.

One of the best metal albums ever made, Lightning to the Nations was an influence on everyone at the time. Just listen to Metallica's Kill 'Em All and you can hear Diamond Head influence in every song.

One of not only NWOBHM?s, but Heavy Metal?s overall defining albums. Combining everything from punky attitude in Am I Evil?, to almost glam-like sleaze with musical complexity and catchiness, it isn?t missing much. I find the last 3 tracks to be weak points, amd drag it down though.

One of Lars Ulrich's favourite NWOBHM bands. Slightly overrated in my opinion, however songs like The Prince, Am I Evil? or Helpless helps to make this album one of the NWOBHM most influential releases.

When i searched for Diamond Head, and they werent in here i was very surprised, i dont know very much of this guys but Lightning to the Nations is pure brilliant, it gold, absoulutelly every song kicks ass. If youre not familiar with this band you should check them out, Metallica made a lot of covers on Garage inc. and they have like 4 or 5 of Diamond Head in there, its trully great stuff, alotugh Lightning to the Nations has sucky production it is still brilliance. I would love for someone to make a review of those guys, because my reviews arent that great i wont make another review so, hopefully someone will make one
