This is such an incredibly powerful instrumental lineup that it seems impossible to top. All the material is top-notch and the vocals aren't as bad as the band worried they would be, they just seem a little hesitant. This is probably the best Fairport album.

We mis Sandy Denny's voice and Dave Swarbrick violin, omnipresent on Liege & Lief, even if Richard
Thompson's guitar is a quite large consolation, especially on Flatback Caper and the long Sloth. It's still a
great pleasure to hear a so pure folk celtic sound like Fairport Convention's music.
