Circle Takes the Square has adopted a more post-hardcore ego, but unlike the usual shit that comes out of the post-hardcore scene, CTTS has actually acquired a very poetic, and almost magnetic sound that pulls the listener into its emotional awhirl of intonation.

Can't give it a proper rating yet, but it's definitely more cohesive than ATRU and goes into a more "prog metal" vein rather than their old post-hardcore sound. It also doesn't rely as much on, "xDDD randum instrumentashun look at this oddd time signature11!". Miles ahead from the borefest of ATRU. Lyrics are as verbose and pretentious as ever.

I hear this has music as well as like three or four hyperboles and eleven or twelve "CTTTs suck because I'm trendy and edgy and MJ lead a revolution and it's punk rock and I'm punk rock and I win yay woohoos." Not that I've listened to it more than once, though.

I'd give it a 4.5 but because of the large amount of trolls I'm giving it a 5. I think ATRU deserves it's five, although I actually like the general sound of this EP more, it's very incomplete... Therefore if there were less trolls it'd be getting a 4.5.

They have actually improved. And ATRU was really excellent but there were moments of weakness and moments where I just kind of got irritated by ridiculousness. Still they are one of the smartest bands in the genre and on this theyve improved in terms of songwriting. More diverse, more coherent and less focused on Drew exploding, this definitely shows us that Decompositions may as a whole be better than ATRU.

Where before there was a forced manic pace now comes a more mellow and yet still a powerhouse of passionate music. Songs shouldn't be looked at individually as much as a whole experience of the EP. CTTS exploring a new territory, whilst not straying away too far from home, has delivered a quite enjoyable experience.
