These are the first five hardcore songs I've heard and I fell in love with the genre. Because of Bayonet, I listen to bands such as Ruiner, Modern Life is War, Have Heart, Bane, Dangers, This is Hell, Rotting Out, and others.

i've always had a soft spot for buddy because of his love for good hardcore bands and i'm thrilled he started one. powerful album.

One of the more important factors in any hardcore group is lyricism, most tend to yell about politics or friendship, backstabbers and liars, but it's a little more personal with Bayonet. Side project of Senses Fail frontman Buddy Nielson, these five tracks are straightforward and honest, not taking a second of your time to relax. At it's short length though, a lot becomes proven and accomplished at the same time, and whether it's the painful lyricism or the adrenaline based music, something here has the ability to just grab you and not let go. This might go down to a 4.5 in time, but for now this is superb work that shouldn't go unnoticed.

true hardcore like it has to be played. strong, harsh, wild and nothing but straight-forward. great vocalist, great lyrics...heartfelt stuff. slightly behind this year's killer release of heart in hand. a good 4 over here.
