'Darkest Days' would prove to be Stabbing Westward's ultimate artistic statement. A loose concept album based on broken relationships, the band never sounded so tight or focused; which is a touch surprising, when one considers that the album weighs in at a lengthy 16 tracks. While it's not a stellar leap from the previous disc, the album has a much better flow, and the thematic continuity ensures that this journey through the darker side of love remains gripping until the bitter end.
