Brendan O'Brien has done wonders through the 90s as a producer, engineer, and/or mixer. He has worked on a number of landmark albums in the decade of grunge, and nu metal. For this reason I decided to listen to Dogman, an album produced and mixed by Brendan and often cited as the best effort from the power trio King's X. Musically, Dogman is a decent album with lush melodies and crunchy chords. Most of the tracks have slow tempos and they are backed by a rather angry and melancholic lyrical content and heavy riffage, with Brendan managing to capture the grungy tones he is so good at. Recommendations: "Dogman", "Black the Sky", "Human Behavior", "Pillow".
