pantera thrash and its actually rly good what the hell never heard a band adopt the groove so well

The general consensus is that The Ritual was the band selling out, and Low is a return to form, but I feel it's the other way around. If anything this album deliberately sounds like Pantera worship, while The Ritual has it's own unique brand of heavy metal. With that being said, Low is still immensely better than anything Pantera released post-CFH.

A great comeback to quality and change of sound from Testament after the weak Souls of Black and The Ritual. Testament get a lot darker and heavier, Billy sounds almost death metal-esque, and Skolnick is no longer a part of the band. Despite absolutely loving Skolnick and missing his neoclassical virtuosity, I think the new guitarist does a stellar job, and love the riffing and peoduction on here. Eztra shoutout to the proggy sections like on Hail Mary.

Alex Skolnick's absence is certainly a detriment to Testament's sound, but Low isn't all bad. It has one of my favorite Testament ballads, Trail of Tears, the death metal monster Dog Faced Gods (A foreshadowing of their later musical experiments), and Urotsukidoji, which is a funky hentai metal instrumental! That's right, hentai metal; it's named after a tentacle hentai series, and features voice samples from it. Low is okay, I guess, but either this or Demonic could qualify as Testament's worst.

Testament's return to form, But it seems as though, Testament's favorite things to do is. 1. Re-record old songs 2. Make a "best of" collection 3. Make a re- with former band members 4. Make a disappointing album 5. Make a good album.
