What a horrible waste of talent. Traded out being a decent by the numbers melo-deathcore band for a rdreadful by the numbers metalcore band. As was aptly put above, the mixture of Attack Attack! esque keys rand Emmure esque yells make for a dog's dinner of an album overall. Having said that "You've Changed" rand "Worthy" are probably worth checking out.

A good band goes bad. Conviction is nothing more than a bland, uninspired metalcore album from a band that had so much potential and decided to waste it. This is yet another album that will likely dominate the playlists of every blue-haired Hot Topic-shopper in America, but is a definite pass for anyone who actually likes good music.

So yeah, this is pretty much worthless. Plus, it's an absolutely fucking embarrassing decrease in quality from their debut. Don't know what the fuck they were thinking.

I can't believe this is getting such suckish reviews! I mean, sure they got rid of a bit of technicality, but they have really good vocals for singing, and introduced piano into their style which changes everything. I really think this is a tight album and is a lot better than the first.

I expected soo much more from what i thought was a very talented band. Don't get me wrong, the music was okay, and not as generic as what others say, but what disappointed me the most and put 25% of the nails in this bands coffin was the music video for 'Forgive Me'. I seriously thought this band was smarter than to make a video like that, ESPECIALLY when the horrible video has nothing to do with the lyrics. rAll i can hope for is more material to come out from the singer's side project The Holy Guile, which is a continuous representation of the old Crimson Armada.

I like that they increased the melodic piano interludes, but sadly they also increased the amounts of annoying shouted and even more annoying clean vocals, bland breakdowns, repetitive song structure and pretty much every other metalcore cliche in the book.

I know lots where disappointed by this album because of the huge change with the clean vocals but besides that I think this album was decent vocals and keys improved I still prefer there first album

While although this bad used to be mostly deathcore, this album isn't bad. I have listened to this album about two or three times. I admit that they fall into some of the traps of generic metal core while also having the speaking/screaming parts from Emmure. When you listen to the album without a bias from the first, I feel that the album isn't as bad as it might seem. Some parts in the album I feel are very good such as during the opening song or Forgive Me. Although, Forgive me is mostly generic, I think that it stands out just a little further.

The Crimson Armada, once a band that had the potential to become king amongst a sea of rmediocre deathcore bands is now treading the waters of generic metalcore. Almost nothing on rthis album stands out. Nothing but chug-core with generic cleans and abysmal spoken word rparts a la Frankie Palmeri of Emmure. The keys/synth make things interesting though (see r"You've Changed"). While it's not the worst metalcore album in the world (some heavy moments ron the album can be surprising, but very rarely does that happen) they're just another rgeneric metalcore band this side of Miss May I.

It's not the worst thing i've ever heard. But I don't know how they went so downhill. Guardians was technical and promising. Conviction is boring and too familiar sounding. Only improvement is the mid range vocals. Just about everything else is trash.
