just one of the greatest albums you can ever hear, Beck's just going all out without his "usual" style of writing. It's the bare bones of his recordings, just him and a guitar, and a little backing orchestra, but it's truly one of the great records of our time, so go out and get it...NOW

16/1001rBesides the two first songs, this albums really doesn?t do anything. From start to finish it?s just a boring listen with a mix of different genres and influences. Not much to really say about this one

Innovative, unique and lyrically poetic. These are the words that can be used to describe this album, but still it would be an injustice as this much praise is not enough. The songs have a gloomy and depressing feel about them and along with the music and lyrics, take the listeners to one hell of a musical journey.

Strong 4 - Sea change is beautiful atmospheric album, which doesn't necesarilly cross into many genres but everything on the album is done right. Highlits - ''Paper tiger'' super memorable and funky song, ''lonesome tears'' beatiful spacey atmosphere with amazing ending. ''End of the day'' i am feeling some sort of Kurt cobain vibe on this one. After all there is not many mistakes on this record it just could've been little bit more experimental

Mellow and atmospheric, Sea Change represent's Beck's depression and loneliness following a break-up. The songs are all downbeat and, while there are a handful of inspired lines, every song aches with simplicity and his personal hurt. Sonically, you can hear his usual folk roots (many songs compare to Gordon Lightfoot's "Beautiful", e.g.) with strong similarities to Radiohead's more melancholic tunes. Takes a few listens to get into, especially if you're not in the right state of mind, but when you do get it it's pretty good.

Sea Change represents Beck?s interpretation of the loss of a relationship. Now this may sound like a discouraging concept, given the depressing nature of the subject matter. Beck, however, seems to transform this pain into an ethereal, atmospheric journey from one end of the break-up spectrum to the other. This isn?t to say there aren?t some somewhat melancholy moments, or even sad ones for that matter, on the record. The positive undertones definitely out-weigh the negativity usually associated with breaking up with a long time partner. Not your usual Beck, but it?s nice to see this more down to earth side of him.
