If U2 retired after POP they would be remembered as a truly brilliant band. Everything since has been bland.

Many people say that U2 isn't as good now then they were in the 80's but any U2 fan can't say that they loathe any track on here. Extremly heavy at times with songs like Beatiful Day and Elevation and extremly mellow at times with songs like Peace On Earth and Walk On but still flows perfectly. I rarley hand out 5s but this one definatly deserves it.

Seven good to great tracks followed by four forgettable ones. "In a Little While" and "Wild Honey" are my favorite of all U2's songs (perhaps because they eschew the enormity of Peace, Love, and God in favor of a simpler kind of love; and they're catchy!). Ocasionally I do venture into "Peace on Earth" and "When I Look at the World"—which aren't bad but don't really stand out—but "New York" is always a stopping point.

U2 takes back to the hills and returns to a highly regarded style of music, one that is hard to find. I their efforts, they create a more than average, perhaps one of the last superb performance.
