For me this is the best Motley album and I was disapointed that there were no more like this!It's sad because of music and fans.But we all know that in USA the pose is more than the worthies!

What I liked about their 1994 album with John Corabi was that it seemed fresh and interesting. He brought a lot of good qualities to their sound, but just wasn't a strong enough songwriter to sustain that mojo over an entire record. Overall, the album is a bit hit and miss, but also closer to great than just good. I love "Power To The Music", as well as the other songs I cited above. These aren't super memorable tracks, but they are at least enjoyable to relive now. Definitely more positives than negative for me, even if they really weren't the same band anymore.

Vince Neil was gone, John Corabi added a second guitar to the mix and a grittier yet melodic vocal performance, and Bob Rock makes a really terrific production job here (the drums are huge and full, the bass is thick, and there's nice textures throughout). "Power To The Music" and "Smoke in The Sky" make for a rockier yet metallic side for the group, and the latter is the heaviest song they've made with its chunky riffs and grinding basslines. "Welcome to The Numb," "Uncle Jack," and "Hammered" are nice tunes, and "Driftaway" is a great closer with a soulful vocal performance. Lacking filler and surprisingly lively, Motley Crue's self-titled album is their best album and their closest to a great record.

A 90's heavy metal album done right. Crunchy bass lines, heavy guitar riffing, better songwriting, top notch production (especially for the drums), and Corabi's excellent balance of raspy yet melodic vocals make for a criminally underrated masterpiece in their catalog.r*points a middle finger at the good yet overrated Shout At The Devil.

I absolutely love this album, it's too bad this is the only one with corabi on it, the two guitars worked well for them and every song on here is good in my opinion :D
