Maximum Security delivers maximum shred!!

Tony is probably one of the most underrated guitarists ever considering he not only drops jaws on the guitar but also blazes on the keyboards and of course he has toured with Steve Vai lot.

He blazed on the shrapnel scene with Edge of Insanity, but I feel, this album is his magnum opus.

The album opens with a very mystic sounding 'Autumn lords' and then blazes into 'Hundreds of thousands', a shred fest which is ultra hard to imitate for all us guitarists. Then comes the beautiful and amazing 'Tears of sahara' (aptly named as this one comes very close to being a tearjerker). After the first 3 masterpieces, Tony shows his range and versatility with a collection of songs, each of which offer the listener something different and wonderful.

He even throws in a Chopin piece on the keyboard showing his amazing skills on the keys.

In my book, a very underrated album and does not get its due.The only deterrent is the production is not quite up to scratch, but if you have material like this, production seems like a very trivial issue.

One of the greatest shred albums and one of my personal favourite!

Just a self-indulgent shredfest, nothing more. MacAlpine's talented, but his overindulgent bombast ruins this album.

One of the greatest guitar albums released in the 80's. Essential work.
