A landmark classic of the entire spectrum of punk, this is both The Exploited and punk rock in general at it's finest, combining incredible little melodies with a raw, blistering form of British punk results in some not only the finest Exploited songs, but some of the best punk songs ever (like "Alternative"). rHighly recommended for anyone with ears and an interest in punk. Truly a classic.

The second album from street punk greats, The Exploited, it is one of the landmarks of British punk. The album was unlike the catchy hits of The Damned or cleverness of the Pistols, it still held its own with its rage and energy of pure punk rock. There is also a blatent heavy metal influence in many songs, and traces to the british hardcore punk bands such as Discharge. This album laid down hardcore-punk groundwork while still keeping the street-punk energy.

Production on these old records is vastly inferior to their later work, and the infusion of metal chuggas lend the later ones a depth the early hardcore/street-punk records lack. But the early records, created before thrash metal even existed, have a wild energy that clearly bespoke how much fun it was to kick the shit out of each other at shows, and how satisfying it was to stick it to popular music, inferior as it was -- and is to this day -- when it comes to relating to their lived experiences. Besides, Slayer covered a couple of the tracks on this one, and if it was Classic enough for Jeff Hanneman, then it's Classic enough for me
