On Waves Moving Mountains have gotten rid of everything that made them interesting. The end result, while enjoyable for a spin or two, offers up nothing that hasn't already been done in the post-hardcore scene. It's sad that one of the genre's great hopes has turned into just another cliche.

I honestly really love this album, true it's not like their previous albums which I really enjoy too, and most will see it as a de-evolution or mainstreaming of their sound, but when the music sounds this amazing, what does it matter?

Holy hell, are you serious? what is wrong with you people? How can you not like this? I have listened to this album over 20 times and my first impression was absolutely right, this record is amazing. Who said this is generic? Name one song that chooses the popular verse-chorus-verse-chorus-bridge-chorus-and end song structure? That's what i thought, the musicianship, vocals, melodys, and instrumentation are all so well thought out and perfect i am just astonished at you people. So what if the song length is cut in half from their last albums? It turned out beautiful, I was always wishing this album would happen and it completely lived up to my expectations and surpassed it.

It's kind of hilarious seeing some of the staff reviews, it seems like people just review shit for the sake of reviewing shit. This is a great album, probably better than Pneuma because well... its more complete but Pneuma has more stand out songs and the atmosphere is better. Still songs like "The Cascade" and "Parts in Different Places" exemplified whats MM is. Sure it's not post rock anymore but thats fine.

I've listened to this album for years now and it grows on you. You find out how deep, personal, emotional and touching it all really is. A very underrated album for being their most outspoken.

Yes its a different and more mainstream sound....but it comes together nicely....like a TBS + Saosin + FATA sound...not bad at all.

Tracks 1. 2. 3. 5. and 6. would have made a great E.P. The others are more generic (been done before and better) , and the quality tapers off towards the final tracks of the album. Speaking of which, the final track does not do much for me. They go out with a whimper. Score based off the "EP"

Maybe they're just fucking with everyone and this release is a decoy, and they've secretly been creating a masterpiece that they will release a few weeks later and everyone will have instant musical orgasms and they'll be all like "lolz hey uz guyz we gotcha!" and all will be right with the world again.rBut in all reality this album isn't all that bad if you just pretend you're not listening to Moving Mountains.
