Unpopular opinion. It's weird how you can manage to make an album so technical yet so bland. Thankfully their later work improved on everything including structure and memorability.

Nile creates a solid death metal album for their first release, but with their own twist on the genre. They add this certain atmosphere to the album that makes it special and different from others.

This is one interesting record. Very brutal and chaotic, but at the same time very atmospheric. The atmosphere on here is dare I say, quite mysterious. Even if some fans may find it bad, I think the raw sound fits the album really well. Sadly most the songs feel a bit too short, but otherwise this is some great brutal yet atmospheric death metal.
