The instrumentals are awesome, but brief and the rest of the album mostly blends together, with highlights being Dr. Teeth, Avdotya, Gooseknuckle and Hemlock Like This.

These guys have really progressed as a band. One of the better deathcore bands out there and they don't saturate their music with unessecary breakdowns.

Here is a band I could never really dig until 'Portals', and 'Motherland' completely gets me re-thinking why I disliked this band in the first place. A little more melodic, a tad more hard hitting and still managing to be the hectic band we remember. Good stuff right here.

considering the sound, ideas and stuff, this is basically Portals 2. first half is kinda boring, the second is more varied. especially "will someone please turn down the ocean?", "tempest" and the beautiful "west cliffs" rule as fuck. unfortunately the rest can't keep up with these killer tracks. still a great record.
