actually impressed with some trv metal bits on this on title and terrorsquid, the power of outsource money bb. still shipwrecked and rum are the only tracks to rly bother with, the rest are about as momentary as the thousands of tiktoks you've watched

Good album but compared to the other ones from the band, it just doesn't measure up. Enjoyable overall, yet it lacks some kind of impulse, spark like the other albums... Best song: Death Throes of the Terrorsquid

Pretty average release. Alestorm doing the same thing they did the past two times they recorded an album. They even made a song addressing this fact. The only problem is that the fun has been sucked out of all of it.

Back Through Time is Alestorm's weakest effort yet. The title track is fun, but all of the other songs are indistinguishable from not only each other, but songs from previous albums. Alestorm still haven't figured out how to craft a compelling album.

At their best, Alestorm are fun, entertaining, enjoyable metal. Their problem has always been how to maintain listener interest in their pirate-y ways across the span of an entire album. Unfortunately, this album does not tackle that problem. In fact, Back Through Time is the band's weakest effort yet, featuring a combination of generic new tracks and songs that sound as though they could be b-sides from the previous album. Granted, the title track is good, however the others are pretty much indistinguishable from not only each other, but songs from previous albums. 1.6
