Everything I look for in a doom metal album. Sets up a great atmosphere and is depressing. I like it.

Slightly overlooked album that seems to worsen for the first few listens, but eventually wins you over again. There's still a distinct sense of a band shifting gears, wondering just which direction to take or settle on, but for this point in their career, Katatonia made a nice, accessible album to lure unsuspecting listeners in.

'Tonight's Decision' takes the basic formula laid down in 'Discouraged Ones' and builds upon it with more streamlined song-writing and a more developed sound. 'Tonight's Decision' reaches fewer musical peaks than 'Discouraged Ones' but still has some excellent moments ('In Death, A Song' being a particular highlight) and feels better put together.

My second favorite Katatonia album after "Last fair deal gone down".."I am nothing", "Right into the bliss", "In a death a song" and "For my demons" are easily my favorite songs....MASTERPIECES! Such a great band...
