some really great tracks on here, some forgettable ones; however I agree with charlie15, "sex life" is awful and kept this from getting a 3.5 from me.

D.R.U.G.S is an extremely uneven record. It's quirky and eclectic at times, with a few tracks that feel honest and heartfelt, but then their are times where it gets to glitzy for its own good. Not to mention that the album spits out its fair amount of completely forgettable tracks as well. The track that are worth your time are definitely enough to bring this albums head above the water, but only so much that it just barely breaks the surface tension.

Inconsistent and hellaciously bland as fuck, D.R.U.G.S.' self-titled debut album seems trapped within an ocean that merely supports catchiness and only this particular characteristic. Around this time, Craig Owens' vocals have improved ever so slightly, but combining his laughable lyricism with the hit-and-miss instrumentation off this release just doesn't work as a proper fusion.

This could have been so so so much better; tracks like "If You Think This Song About You, It Probably Is", "Mr Owl Ate My Metal Worm" and "My Swagger Has A First Name" demonstrate potential, and the instrumentation, on it's own, is relatively good. The album, however, is let down by poor lyrics, insipid (and unnecessary ) dream-pop [see: "I'm Here To Take To The Sky] and some pretty cringe-worthy song titles.

Craig Owens has a controlled sound that proves his vocal strengths. He takes dominance with this project and just has a damn good time with it, and that's why this album succeeds.

Craig Owens' voice has went from in my opinion awesome and original, which was a very distinct high note, and was watered down. It's a shame cause I bet haters of Chiodos would have appreciated him more with this voice on a Chiodos record. Still like his previous band, Craig Owens still steals the show here. Songs are a lot less epic, but still the record is pretty catchy.

It is Craig Owens gold, reminiscent of the Chiodos album "Alls well that ends well". Melodic Hardcore at it's perfection. This album may not give Chiodos, Cinematic Sunrise, or any other side projects a boost, but in my opinion it defiantly stamps his own reputation into the "hardcore scene". His conviction bleeds out of every sound on this album, the only thing pushing it away from perfection is his inability to sustain screams anymore, and the thought that he has done this before, but just without the right studio equipment. I do have to say that I haven't been that interested in albums as of late, but this one has grabbed my attention and brought me back to the music world seemingly, because now many albums are coming out that catch my eye. The Tracks on this album sustain themselves, and don't sound repetitive. I especially enjoy the breakdowns done, but I think he might need to take a shot in the ego and have a back up screamer help those flow easier.

The album rocks. It's definitely a nice change for Craig Owens, and the musicianship in this album is great. Some of the tracks can kind of feel repetitive, but it's still a great listen. There are heavy tracks, and lighter tracks as well. It would've been nice to hear a ballad song on this, and maybe a more relaxing song for some contrast, but other than that, this is a solid debut album from this band...and I'm very excited to hear more from them in the future.

Not good, not bad. Its just average. Some good songs and some Sex Life. I can't help but
think that this might have made a better album for "The Used." Of course, that could just
stem from Feldman's go-to production style. *Sings Graveyard Digging, " All alone he turns
to stone while holding his breath half to death..." Oh wait, wrong lyrics.

The hype machine that is D.R.U.G.S isn't as grand as your typical Craig Owens fanboy would seem to suggest, nor is it a total abomination. There is truth to that Craig improved his vocals quite well from his Chiodos-days (though some of the lyrics are quite cringe worthy), and Feldman did a good job giving the band a nice catchy poppy post-hardcore sound. With this said, DRUGS debut album actually manages to barely scrap by in beating the run-of-the-mill post-hardcore clones due some odd charm, charisma, and enough musical variety to differentiate the songs. Though in the end it will most likely not change your opinion about the band because of how self-absorbed they function

A really good album from some very talented musicians, every song is different from the furious opener If You Think This Song Is About You, It Probably Is, to the more poppy Sex Life all the way to the heavy scream-along My Swagger Has A First Name.
