I really liked the first track on this, and a couple other ones. It does have its high points and is a cool indie rock with interesting instrumentations, perfect for a psychedelic listen on a road trip. I will probably re-listen to it, even though it failed to grab my attention during most of the album. 3.2

Like being in an underwater haze on a warm night. The Maryland duo really pack quite a full sound despite some of the instrumentally minimalism.

I love Wye Oak and I love this album, but opposed to what I thought, I think I like "The Knot" better than this one. "Civilian" is a strong, dream-like, chill album, but I feel as though The Knot has a bit more 'epic-ness' of a feel. r2 days later: I changed my mind. This album is all I listen to lately, it grows on me every time.
