there's no doubt that Johnny Polygon is a talented vocalist, and could very easily sell records with it alone, but in this EP we see a few departments that aren't his voice lacking as much grandeur. in 'someday' and 'fuckin' awesome' we get bored with boring, flat synthetic drum beats while Johnny Polygon croons off in the background. his lyricism finds itself not in the realm of the catchy, but vapid rappers, not in the clever, more profound verses of the intellectual wordplayers... none of his melodies lend anything interesting, and it's quite a shame, because without any of this, Johnny Polygon's voice is virtually useless. Wolf in Cheap Clothing just doesn't deliver on any level and miraculously misses the mediocre radio hip-hop mark.
