Summoning literally puts you on the back of a giant, soaring eagle, flaming sword in hand, ready to abolish dragons in Middle Earth. They actually put you behind a female orc with a horn of mead in one hand and a giant green ass check in the other.

I have to point out the Land of the Dead is the greatest song ever created by mortal man. It's timeless, well composed yet simple, makes it's 13 minute length seem much shorter than is, and it contains more emotion than a feeble human mind could comprehend. Grown men will be in tears when they hear the song for the first time. You could listen to the song 5 hours straight and not get sick of it. Hell, I bet you could listen to it at least 500 hours. The other songs on this album are fantastic, too. Recommended for anyone interested in Atmospheric Black Metal.

Wow is all I can say. The best way to describe this album is epic. Beetween the vast use of creative instruments and the amazing themes this album sets itself apart from everything else. Drumming in this album is fantastic, there are a huge variety of drums beetween basic snares and tympanies. This album is very vocally impressive, there are great harsh vocals and then there are epic chants in the background at times. Lord of the Rings metal is the perfect way to describe everything here. This is surely the best album of the year.

the production on this is just so fucking bad. it was produced and mastered by the band its self and i wish they would quit doing that shit. they are clearly deaf. the guitars are turned up so fucking loud and they are so distorted that its all you can hear you cannot hear anything else. its not just the guitars everything on the whole album is too loud and the dynamic range is so dog shit that you cannot hear anything. an album does not need to be turned up to 11 and after dol guldur they started destroying the dynamic range on every album. album sounds like absolute shit because of this god awful mastering. It is such a shame because if this album had better mastering it would be a classic but it is held back by such a terrible master. They need to let a professional produce their albums because this makes my ears bleed. The vinyl has a lot better dynamic range. If i get the vinyl and it sounds a lot better i will change the score.

i love this to bits, and to me every single song in here is a masterpiece. Though it doesn't strike any emotional strings (yet). So for now, a 4.5 seems a most plausible outcome.

I wish that I could describe this album in detail but I can't. Because this album is so ****ing good! All that I can say is that this is probably one of the most epic metal albums ever made. If you like slow and melodic black metal then you must get this album. This is a unique epic masterpiece that every metal fan should experience. Incredible album!
