Quite a difference from their later albums! Idlewild lay the foundations of punk with alternative rock influences, the latter of which would come to shine a lot brighter in their next album. Here, the songs often tend to drag. The lyrics repeat themselves a little too often. Idlewild were clearly looking for direction. Not a bad album but too little to keep me here.
