Even nostalgia can't save this fodder party muzak of an album. The Beginning really was the dying breath of this kind of brash, positive kind of electropop - so long and thanks for nothing! It would soon be replaced by the doomervibe that characterizes most uneven decade - eg Lana and The Weeknd that would tell you all about how their high-end life doesn't bring them the happiness they so ardently desire.

I actually bought (read: made my dad buy) this album for me back in 2010. I liked it back then. Dear god, I actually /liked/ it.

The beginning is, ironically, the end. At least I hope it is. I liked The E.N.D. and will continue to defend it, but The Beginning... Catchy beats are few and far between and the lyrics are a joke. Fashion Beats and The Time are the only enjoyable dance tracks, and don't even look for any sort of deep and meaningful lyrics. They tried an electro-ballad on "Whenever" and Fergies auto-tuned lines are probably the high point of the album. This is a bad thing. rCheck:The Time, Light Up The Night, Whenever, Fashion BeatsrSkip: Everything else, but make an effort to avoid Do It Like This and XOXOXO.
