Well, there's amazing pop; good pop; pop that while purely commercial, still works; pop that is so blatantly Auto-Tuned that it... still somehow works. Cannibal (and Animal) is none of these, no, it falls into the category of, bogan pop. Indeed, bogan pop is pop derived from a socio-economic class of musicians so terrible that even real-world bogans are allowed to be critical.

The first half of Cannibal is absolutely brilliant, loaded with fantastic beats and hooks, but the EP falters in its second portion, descending into cheap jokes like "Grow a Pear" that would be more suited alongside the excrement of Katy Perry. "Blow", however, is one of the best pop singles in recent memory.

I thought hip hop was dying. But it looks like music in general is dying. Every song is about partying,
getting drunk and having sex. This is just a disgrace. She can't sing, she can't make any meaningful songs
and the beats are AWFUL.

I think her lyrics are really funny. An exception is "Cannibal," where the Dahmer reference is inappropriate. Overall, if you found Animal to be a guilty pleasure, you will like this EP.

I feel like most of these ratings were given by people who have never actually listened to the EP and only rlooked at the review grade, knowing that all the cool kids are supposed to hate Ke$ha. The fact is that rCannibal is far better than Animal and, if any other artist had released this (maybe with a bit less autotune), it would probably have gotten much more praise. The lyrics are generally better than those of her contemporaries and the production is solid. That said, if you're looking for something cerebral while writing your Harvard application essay, you should probably turn away. But if you feel like listening to some unapologetic dance music and Lady Gaga isn't doing it for you, look no further.
