| 3.5 great | Vanwarp | November 20th 10 | It’s a pop album folks, all the songs are upbeat, mainstream pop love songs. DeWyze's voice reminds me of Johnny Reid or Uncle Kracker. The music on "Live it Up" is light pop, no rocking out tunes at all, it's an easy listening experience for sure. FAV songs: "Beautiful Like You" & "Brooklyn Bridge"...but everything is good, not one bad pop tune on the disc! Strictly for the pop enthusiast...

| 2.5 average | mvdu | November 17th 10 | Could have been a lot worse. The safe music actually works to his advantage in a way, because the cloying quality of his voice is kept to a minimum. Three songs here are worth purchasing - "Dear Isabelle," "Brooklyn Bridge," and "Stay Here." "Dear Isabelle" is a rare spare moment, and even though it sounds like John Mayer, succeeds in charming. "Brooklyn Bridge," with its jazzy quality, is refreshingly un-Idol. "Stay Here" is irresistably snappy. All the other songs have been done better by other artists.
