Really harsh and aggressive thrash metal that has for some reason not got anywhere near as much exposure as some of the big guns and yet topples bands such as metallica and slayer with ease. This is one of the rawest most dirty ugly sides of thrash metal one will ever hear and is amazing start to finish. Every riff will tear free the listeners skin with ease whilst every solo not only melts your face but scorches it right off. When listening to this album you dont know what the fuck to do and with the lyrics you are half expecting the vocalist to suddenly start hating on you for absltuely no reason other than to make a magnificent fucking record that really has withstanded the tests of time and has aged beautifully like fine wine

This is one of the genre's greatest exercises on the importance on bigger-than-life riffs, and it's nearly flawless in that department. That's not to say it's a one-trick pony; it's got terrific production (loud, bombastic but not too filthy), great drumming and basswork, and a unique vocal performance, and it also displays their early tendencies of adding surprising elements to their tunes compared to their brethren. Still the band's greatest accomplishment.

The guitarwork and riffs are impressive, but no matter how many times I try to listen to this album I get an aneurysm from the singing. It's like nails on a chalkboard. Besides the ear-ringing vocals, the rest of the production sounds incredibly tinny which doesn't help anything. With better production and any other singer, I would give this a 4 or even a 4.5, but it honestly detracts so much from my enjoyment that I won't go over 3.5

If you want Death Angel at their thrashiest (this is definitely their heaviest album by far), go for The Ultra-Violence. The songwriting can be a little shaky, but there's plenty here for fans of thrash metal, including some great riffs and amazingly shrieky vocals.

It's hard to believe that an album this awesome was made by a bunch of fucking kids. I mean, the drummer was 15. Is that not badass? This album is everything that thrash is about. Speed, agression, but it's got plenty of melody too, and the guitarwork is excellent.

Death Angel made one awesome album. I'm talking about their debut album ''The Ultra-Violence''. This album is a thrash album which is highly aggressive and intense but also funny at the same time. There are lots of cool riffs in here, catchy headbanger moments and really sick vocal work. This guy delivers screams at 2000 hertz! This might not be a thrash metal classic but it is still unique nonetheless. Old-school thrashers must get this album. As I said: Incredibly intense and aggressive but at the same time catchy and outright awesome thrash metal.
