An overlooked effort from a few talented Swedes. Upon release in 2000, it came under praise and criticism simultaneously. Critics wrote that they sounded too much like their influence of Kyuss. The opening tracks of "Caravan" and "Flat Earth" cement this point. But they are far from bad songs. In fact, in the realm of stoner rock, Lowrider has come up with some of the coolest riffs in the genre. "Riding Shotgun" makes effective use of a cowbell, while "Texas Pt. I & II" emulates Kyuss' buildup for epic songs and nails it. No one ever accused stoner rock of being completely original. The genre either works for you or it doesn't.
