I can think of very few things that can sadden people, like music. I've heard a lot of depressing stuff over the years and sometimes I've forgotten it. But... What a beautiful, painful, and heartbreakingly perfect example this album is, as a portrayal of sadness.

An emotional album that does not have a track that should be skipped. While not as emotional as Niadra Lades, it does pack a depressing punch. This would compete with Niadra Lades as my favorite acoustic album.

John Frusciante continues to create original and impressive material with Curtains. Considered an acoustic album, (although many tracks use electric guitars for solos and backing melodies) it is the final installation of his series of "6 albums in 6 months" releases. Curtains was recorded mostly in John's living room on an 8-track tape machine from 1970, which lends itself to the record's noticeably warm and comfortable sound. If you are a fan of John's other solo work or his playing on the more recent Chili Peppers albums, Curtains should defintately be a part of your record collection.
