Their best work was yet to come however "Fistful of Metal" remains a genre classic release. My favourite songs here are Deathrider and Metal Thrashing Mad.

Good Thrash debut that is obvioulsy not at where Anthrax wanted to be. Everything would be fixed with the arrival of Joey on next album.

Neil Turbin was the best thing to come from Anthrax even if Joey is a highlight on their masterpieces STD and ATL. Turbin's banshee screams and gruff midrange often stole the show here, which, however, isn't hard to tell why since the solid guitarwork is often buried in the bottom-heavy [to a fault] production. There's a few throwaways, but the likes of "Metal Thrashing Mad," "Subjugator," "Panic," and "Anthrax" are fine examples of why we love old school so much. A solid album that sits around a 3.5 and a 4.

Fistful of Metal is a solid, albeit flawed, debut from Anthrax. The biggest flaw is the production: Turbin's vocals are barely audible and the instruments in general could've benefited from better audio quality. The "I'm Eighteen" cover and "Death From Above" feel somewhat out of place, at least in my view. All the same, this is the sound of a band that's trying to come to terms with itself. They would sound a lot more mature on Spreading the Disease.

Gets right to the point of headbanging. I like that, you dont have to wait all day for a into with piano and violins and shit . i just want metal. and thats what happens when you listen to anthrax.
