On her 2008 solo debut, metal vocalist and professional biologist Runhild Gammelsaeter tried to keep true to herself by combining both of her worlds (scientific and musical if you couldn't guess), but fell flat for odd reasons. Her voice is a weaker version of those demented howls that she had when performing with Thorr's Hammer and Khlyst, and they don't fit in with her newfound obsession with neofolk - a poor man's version of lilting acoustic passages, to be more specific.
