4.5 superb | AtavanHalen | October 13th 10 | Australia's first and foremost contemporary writer - writer overall, not just songwriter - has delivered another beautiful work, for the first time away from The Drones. Just the man and his acoustic guitar, it's balladry at its finest, with long, winding tales of love, loss, the human condition and Australian history. A performer like no other, Strange Tourist is yet another essential album from the genius that is Gareth Liddiard.

3.5 great | The Aspie Fantastie | March 16th 22 | Although Gareth's lyrics are some of the sharpest in his career, filled with biting subtext and riveting storytelling, his delivery now stripped down to simple voice and a guitar is as uncomfortable as it is heavy. It has its place to be, where those more tolerant than myself to the absence of an equally chilling ensemble of musicians to accompany Gareth, can find enjoyment.

5.0 classic | TwoInTheShoe | February 18th 19 | Beautiful both in the lyrics and guitar work, not a single song or moment on here stands as
a low point. I love what the future holds for Tropical Fuck Storm but I hope he returns to
folk for another album someday, the man was born to tell stories like this.
