Fresh off of Cannibal Corpse, barnes released this. It would be his last good vocal performance ever.

Laughably straightforward and simple, but nonetheless still kickass. It's pretty basic death metal without any real technicality or mind bending guitar solos. Drums sound a bit sterile on this record though, but regardless it's fun every now and then

Haunted is Six Feet Under's debut and best album. Retaining strong death metal roots, it sounds exactly like one would expect from a band including Allen West and Chris Barnes in it's membership. It's a sludgy, listenable death metal album that can appeal to fans who thought Cannibal was too brutal and dislike John Tardy's vocal approach. While it won't redefine your view of death metal if you have more than a passing familiarity with the genre, it could serve as a good starting point for neophytes. For the experienced, it's simply a nice, easy listening version of death metal (in a good way).
