Could have been much better. Instruments were pretty much dead on the whole album and well recorded. Then there's the vocals. Jake's voice just isn't there for the majority of the songs. I've seen them live, and know for fact that he sounds much better usually. Maybe they weren't recorded/mixed well or maybe he was just tired. Either way, it's a poor excuse for vocals on a retail release.

I've listened to August Burns Red diligently since Thrill Seeker. I've been with them since
their major line-up changes, I've been with them through the hysteria of the innocuous
Messengers, I've adjusted to their experimentation in Constellations, and sadly, I'm still
with them through this mediocre live album.
Home tries so hard to be a testament to these plain-town boys's energetic live shows, but
instead, it becomes a marketing technique, a gimmick, a chance for record labels to snatch
up high schooler's hard-earned cash. I like live albums. I love to feel like I'm apart of a
greater, group experience, and August Burns Red has such an experience. But I'm afraid it
isn't conveyed well here. Tooth And Nail and their subsidiary Solid State are so hell-bent
on solid production and streamlined rock that they miss the fact that what makes a live
album a LIVE album is the flaws. The missed notes, the dissonant chords, the cracking
voices, and most of all, the damn fans! Where the hell are the cheers and claps on this
album?
Also, Jake Lurhs's voice wavers in and out too much on this album. I know I just said errors
are what make a live album, but for some reason he sounds like he's out of breath from start
to finish of this performance and it just becomes a pain to keep up with for anyone who
knows their songs.
When I listened to this CD and watched their documentary, I was truly moved by their
passion, and I strongly believe these guys have their hearts set on explosive heights; I
just don't think Home is an appropriate portrayal.

Having seen this band live before, I was really excited for this live album. Their vocalist is great live, but on this particular release, he's their weakest link, something that just doesn't show on their studio efforts. Instruments are great though, I know ABR can do better than this.

They can certainly play live, thats for sure. The vocals however are ugh sometimes, but then again the line-up is so long they played over an hour set, so it's understandable. They picked some great songs for this album and they sound very energetic. A well done live album to say the least, hope next time though, they give their singer a break inbetween somewhere.
