One of the best new wave albums. Full of original, catchy rhythms and melodies, and with totally perfect, deeply atmospherical production - probably the best I've ever heard. The compositional and audiophile masterpiece.

Of all the albums from the 80s, Songs from the Big Chair has easily aged the best production wise. In some cases it can hold up to modern albums with its full instrumentation and excellent lower end.

This doesn't just function as a new wave masterpiece filled with tracks which should've all been hypnotic singles; Songs from the Big Chair works completely as a mediator for the forsaken and the tormented, with the record's usage of synthesizers and the album's superb production values effortlessly reaching out to its assigned targets. Truly beautiful on the inside and out.

Beautiful and majestic in every sense of the word, this album perfectly captures the essence of pop music; and the 80's decade as a whole. This masterpiece captivates the listener in the way beautiful synthesized melodies, and a focus on an threatic atmosphere. On tracks such as "Listen", this focus is perfectly evident in the way of a dulcet piano riff and synthizer effects tacked on almost naturally. Then there's also the more upbeat, empowering songs such as "Shout" which maintain the melodic vibe while adding that overwhelming sense of "This should be used as a soundtrack for the epic moments of my life."
