My favorite Envy album has always been All The Footsteps... and Recitation doesn't change that, but what it does do is show off the completed vision that Envy began working on with Insomniac Doze. Recitation is grandiose, uplifting, and downright beautiful.

I'm in love with this record. It dips and rises perfectly for me, and its great to have some more hardcore
inspired songs again, which add some immediacy to the record to help break up the slow post-rock
moments.

More of the same, though still very good. It won't surprise you if you're familiar with the band's previous post-rock infused albums. If you're not, expect an emotional post-rock hardcore rollercoaster.

Why don't people love this? I don't understand. It really is amazing. The melodies are so lovely and it is the perfect balance of soft and intense. Give it a chance, it blew my mind.

pretty sweet, but the vocals sound kind of shitty. They do a good job switching between the post-rock and screamo dynamic, and also mix slower ambient songs with more upbeat tracks like "rain clouds...". definitely one of the best screamo outings of 2010.

Post-Hardcore/Screamo Envy >>>>>>> Post-Rock Envy. Yeah. Album is painfully boring, slow and would've been awesome about five years ago, but... meh. Dead Sinking Story kicks this album's ass and takes its lunch money.
