This is one of those albums that you just simply listen to for a fun time. It might be "breakdowncore", but it's still solid, and has some really cool melodic parts, as well as interesting synth parts here and there. Just take it for what it is, and you'll definitely find yourself enjoying this album...a lot. I know I did, at least!

despite the bad bad instrumentals (being 99 percent breakdowns)i very much enjoyed the clean
vocals done by tyler but thats really the only positive thing i can say about this album =/

A mixed bag, some nice flowy riffs and interesting arpeggios scattered around. Particularly the better tracks such as 'Delinquent' and 'Hell of High Water'. Interesting uses of samples and some excellent work from ex Of Machines drummer Austin Thornton.rHowever for every excellent riff there are 5 monotonous, cookie cutter breakdowns to go with it. The annoying over-reliance on the use of breakdowns makes listening to the entire album at once a near impossible task. Track by track however there is some joy to be had.

With more Rise-Core being pumped out daily, Woe, Is Me fail to distinguish themselves from a label filled with keys, breakdowns and buttery clean vocals, with the only standout aspect being the harsh vocals.

Woe is me is a band from Atlanta,Georgia. Formed in 2009 and released their first album Numbers. I was immediately shocked to hear this band got onto rise records so quickly. But into the album in first off with
"On veiled men" Which sounds very techno-nish from the start, then breakdown among with good strong screamed vocals. But very standard next [&] Delinquents which sounds like a blast of techno in your face but a very overproduced song(the whole album is overproduced) which isn't bad but i would expect a change to make this stand out. Most songs from woe sound very similar at least in song structure they either start or end with breakdowns.Except "Hell or High water" which stood out to me as a good song. Everything else is well easily forgettable. Honestly at this point in metalcore we need a change in this saturated scene of music. I do believe that the clean vocalist is one reason why this band is catchy. He has a good range and i believe he can do well. I just hope this band doesn't depend on him so much. Their unclean vocalist is good and hits the nail at the right spots. The mix of clean and unclean vocal sounds nice but not original. The syths i find very cool and quite the crowd pleaser. Bass is almost unheard of in this album except for a few parts. Woe is me can become a band which everyone can listen to just work on riffs hopefully stronger ones and fix the bland and boring riff structures. No more damn breakdowns!!! They seem to just throw in breakdowns for the hell of it. It's unoriginal and it become a chore to listen to.I would give these guys a shot but blandness in a genre of music where very one is after your attention makes this band forgettable.

We are woe is me and we glitched the fuck out of our cd. I want to punch every single member of this unnecessarily large, 7 piece band in the face. They bring nothing creative or interesting to the table and the singer tries SO hard to portray creativity and talent but crashes and burns so hard in my eyes.

Tyler's voice is very good, nice use of synth throughout, love the breakdowns...sometimes too repetitive though. Johnny craig is an awsome add to this album his and tyler's voice in "Desolate..." is orgasmic. Overall a great debut album.

Nothing that we haven't heard before. As with a few of these types of bands, there is a hint of talent here however. The clean singer especially, who actually has a nice voice except that he hides it behind constant harmonizing. There is a grand total of 17 seconds on this record where his vocals aren't using the monotonous "harmonizing" effect. rIf the band focused less on breakdowns, they might actually have had a good record.

Nothing new, but the vocalist is really good. Ex- Of Machines drummer does a nice job, but re-usage of the same breakdown gets really old, really fast. Jonny Craig feature on Desolate is a plus, though.

Place" that I've been able to listen to on repeat and not even realize it's played through
2-3 times.
