Why 5? Underrated album, Dio in his best performance,Iommi and whole band too. No filler track, no one song about rainbow:D

Yeah, this is def the heaviest Sabbath album I've listened to, but I find the highlights are more Dio's vocals and Geezer's bass. I think the second half of the album is much better than the first half, which I find, frankly, forgettable, save for the opener.

It was great to see the legends together again. Dehumanizer is a very cool record with amazing songs like Computer God, After All (The Dead), TV Crimes, Buried Alive and specially I. Sad to see this Sabbath mark II break apart soon after this release.

Though not without its weak points, Dehumanizer holds up pretty well and has some surprisingly effective tracks in spots.

Probably Black Sabbath's finest release since Paranoid, and obviously their last album worth listening to. Despite the fact that the chemistry wasn't there for the band (this was an entirely an 'one and done' reunion album + tour, there is even an uncirculated bootleg with Tony Martin on vocals still be searched for) Ronnie still writes the haunting lyrics with the Iommi's killer riffs to go with it.
The album starts off the right way with the corny, yet unbelievably heavy and catchy "Computer God," which was obviously written after RJD watched both Terminator movies. "After All" is a tremendous ballad, and seems to grow on you the most. Of course, "TV Crimes" was the "since it's 1992 we can prove we can play thrash" obligatory single.
Other great songs include "I" (which survived on Dio's setlists for the remainder of the decade) and "Master of Insanity." (Actually a Geezer Butler Band leftover.)
Don't expect it to be classic Ozzy Sabbath, or even "Heaven and Hell" or "Mob Rules," but in it's own right, it's a great album. As a Black Sabbath album, it's one of their best.

Just upped my rating of this from a 4 to a 4.5 - It really grows on you! I think I even like it better than Mob & Heaven and Hell now. Although nothing approaches Falling Off the Edge of the World, or a few other classics.
But it's arguably Sabbath's heaviest, darkest album, w any singer. Try it. Again and again, because it will only grow on you.

The album that Born Again should have been. Very similar vibes between those two albums, except Sabbath got it right with this one. The lineup from Mob Rules is reunited on this album. This riffs very hard, an aggresive album which was a surprising twist from Sabbath. Sometimes it felt more like on the Pentagram-side of doom/heavy metal, to be honest. But the production is great, the riffs and solos are spot on, and Dio's vocals are fantastic as usual. Too bad it was their last one together.

Sure, while it is nice to see Dio, Geezer and the others re-unite one last time with Iommi, the album suffers from too many slow-paced songs and Dio's voice is not the same as it used to be given he had been 49 at this point. The production is very messy where too much of the guitar instrumentals sound rather distorted and the riffs are just recycled from all of their previous outputs. Another issue is Dio's voice echoing while singing making it a bit alienating compared to Heaven & Hell or Mob Rules. Still, it's easily their best effort in a while and the best Sabbath record of the 90s, though it's not saying much otherwise.

Tony Martin was a competant vocalist in his own right, but his contributions couldn't hold back the band's downward creative downward spiral. However, Ronnie James Dio and the other members of Sabbath's classic lineup minus Ozzy Osbourne return to record Dehumanizer, the band's best effort since Mob Rules. Combining the doom of early Sabbath and the pummeling energy of Dio-era Sabbath was a great choice, and the result is a pleasant intertwine of the best traits of the band. Opener "Computer God" is a dark look at what society has become today and is not tame with its aggressive delivery, especially from Dio whose vocals sound as good as ever and angrier than before. "After All (The Dead)" is even more doomy and angry, and "Buried Alive" closes the album on a morbid note and perhaps their most sinister sounding song to feature Ronnie James Dio. Like Mob Rules, it's not as instantly quotable as H&H or as fresh, but it's jammed with excellent tunes (some of their best since the Ozzy days) and may be their angriest album to date.
