Gore-Groove Slam kings WTC have had mixed reviews from the beginning of time. First it was the shock of the overtly graphic lyrical content mixed with gutturals that could only be spawned from a refilling-toilet. Then elitists started having hissy-fits about messy blast beats and simple chugging riffs. One thing WTC seems to succeed in is making themselves known whether being ripped on or moshed to and remains one of the most popular slam bands in the U.S. "Beyond Cops, Beyond God" admittedly is one of the most awful titles ever but their sound remains aggressive and slightly unique and even more mature, stepping up from previous releases. I'll be one of the few to stand up for these brutes.

Worst band ever.
Terrible musicianship.
Vocals sound like a wookie taking a shit.
Riffs could've been written by a reatarded monkey jumping on a guitar.
Drums are generic, repetitive, and sloppy.
TERRIBLE release.
Might as well be Brokencyde.

While they really couldn't sink any lower, it still surprises that New Jersey quintet Waking The Cadaver show improvement on 2nd LP 'Beyond Cops, Beyond God'. Of course, it is all relative, with this album simply being easier to endure than its predecessor, via improved production & more varied vocals... Despite the frog croaks & pig squeals continuing to exist. It's still tough to comprehend the ridiculously violent lyrics & repetition does sink in well before this half hour is up, but at least a more traditional death-metal leaning sound means that every track doesn't sound exactly the same. Recommended Tracks: Sadistic Tortures & Suffering Upon Revenge.

Generic Suffocation-ripoff death metal/core. The breakdowns lack real punch and the squealed vocals are still annoying, but neither of those two things are really done frequently enough to become bothersome like they are in other brutal dm/core bands. This one for sure doesn't deserve the negativity it gets, regardless how generic it is. And I mean generic or not, the vocals have that nice gravely thing going on, and the riffs are fairly OK, so it's pretty easy to sit through.
