Embrassing cover of their landmark album. Go to amazon and buy a current copy of either Ozzy Osbourne's Blizzard of Oz or Diary of a Madman. The releases completely suck and sound like shit, why?, because ozzy had the drums and bass rerecorded like 15 years after they originally came out, and it just doesn't compare to the original releases. This is pretty much the same shit but worse, they rerecorded the album in its entirety with its current lineup because the original went oop. To add insult to injury, Robert Trullijo did both the recording of this bullshit, and the rerecording of the ozzy basslines. Get this original album, this is useless horseshit.

This is a remake of the 1983 self-titled album apparently, but with updated members and sound (Mike Muir, the band's frontman and leader, is the only remaining member from the old lineup.) It sure won't serve as good enough for people who have the original, but since it ran out of print, the band re-recorded it, and the sound is tight and thrashy. If you don't have the original or the reissue, or if you just think "I Saw Your Mommy" is the most obnoxious (and best) song ever, this is for you.

I don't think this is considered a compilation album if they released it as a studio album. The songs are not by the original band (other than murr) from the original first couple of albums. the album sounds like it is done with better musicians but it loses a lot of its raw energy in my opinion. An example is the war inside my head song. In the remade version it goes "WAR INSIDE MY HEAD lyrics WAR INSIDE MY HEAD." The original goes "WAR INSIDE MY HEAD (sweet guitar screeching to simulate a war screaming inside your head. lyrics WAR INSIDE MY HEAD." None of the raw energy...but still for some reason a fine album for what it is. The reason why I rate it as a 4.5 is because there was a time when you could not get the originals and this remade album is all we had to jam to if we no longer had the original tapes.
