A huge inspiration for countless guitarists, Satriani still manages to create an album that revolves around melody(tons of it), technique, and precision. Beautiful songs like Ten Words and A Love Eternal will make you stop everything your doing and open up the world of dreams to you (yes, its that soothing), while groovy slightly heavier songs like Crowd Chant will throw you in rock-out mode.While not his best release, Satch still maintains to kick instrumental ass with this album.

Satriani is an amazing musician more than his ability to play guitar. Even if you don't like his music, his sense of song compostion is impeccable. Anyone who denies this needs to take a music appreciation class. His latest, Super Colossal, is not his greatest. I believe that would still be Surfing. But, having said that, it does have some great tunes, namely "Made with Tears" and "Ten Words". Oh Yeah, Satch is a better player than Vai for song compostion and tone. I'm not disrespecting Vai though, his latest "Real Illusions" may be his best since Passion.
