Yeah, there is little I can or need to say here, Nujabes is a trailblazer and ya'll know it. You don't have to like this, but you def gotta appreciate it. If you like modern cross-sections of hip-hop and any classical, jazz, blues, etc samples and genres, thank Nujabes. If you like those lo-fi hip-hop studying playlists, thank Nujabes.

Much like I remember from years and years ago, this is a solid compilation with coherence that really could make it an album of mostly B tier, with a substantial number of A tier and a minute amount of S tier Nujabes material, with the caveat that it benefits less from familiarity bias than Metaphorical Music does. Damn it I have to resort to rating albums from the awful car JBL sound now. 4.1

In a discography full of gems, this is the winner. Just a succession of 14 blissful moments, hitting you like rays of sunshine caressing your face on a sweet summer morning. It's even more impressive given the record's nature: it's a compilation, but there is no filler here. Atmospherically, this might be Seba's most on-point record, with horns and strings ensuring the beats do not take the central place. It's thus the one Nujabes record with the most crucial focus on instrumentation (there's very little rapping here compared to his other projects). Most importantly, though, the cohesion and flow are at their very best here, each track seamlessly leaving space for the next one. A beauty, a modern classic, and another proof that Jun Seba was in his own category.

Counting Stars is hands down one of my favorite songs. Every time it comes on I'm reminded of the episode of Samurai Champloo when I first heard it and was amazed. Right from there I went to search for the song and artist and that's how i discovered Nujabes and all his music. Everything about this album is beautify crafted and it proves to be some of his best work.
