I liked this band when they weren't trying to be like Killswitch Engage...Much like the album before it, these guys are just copying and pasting the KSE style, but can't pull it off. (and on this album, it sounds even worse) Especially the singing parts, oh god the singing...Way to abandon your original sound from your first 3 albums and sell out guys. Even Mille Petrozza (who is featured in one of the songs on this record) can't up the score on this steamer. Thumbs wayyyyy down.

This Undying Darkness is a very nondescript album. It follows the abused catchy chorus/heavy verse formula far too closely. The primary appeal of this album, the melodies, are the same metalcore harmonies that we've heard hundreds of times before. It's pretty well executed, I suppose, but Caliban are just one of many Killswitch Engage clones.

Compared to their previous album this one lacked a bit of the energy. It seems quite soft here and there, moving more and more towards the "Killswitch Engage"-thing, with the constant change between melodic and screamed vocals. It's ok, but somehow lacks substance and edge. Could have been better
