| 0.0 | LG | July 16th 10 | A masterpiece in name, Shadow of the Colossus do an okay job of living up to its own title. Sadly the uninspired vocals tend to make this album drag more then it should. Living up to the reputation of one of the most celebrated video games in exsistence, is no easy feat. Still with a solid release, fans of the game won't be out seeking for the band's blood just yet.

| 3.5 great | ShinXetsu | July 21st 10 | I'll admit it, I first clicked on the review on sputnik's front page because I thought it was a review for the video game soundtrack of the same name. I wasn't expecting a tightly knit package of deathcore with a tasteful presence of melodic passages littered throughout the album. Even if it's not enough to single-handedly change the face of deathcore, these guys do a helluva job trying.

| 3.5 great | TheSpawnOfDeth | June 21st 10 | Even with all the melodic/progresive elements, it does get just as boring as most deathcore. I'd like to see them expand their sound on thier next album.

| 0.0 | Thy Supreme Vomit Kommander, Nicholas von Nuclearpiss | February 24th 16 | decided to give this a chance since people were saying this band is one of the few exceptions to
the "deathcore sucks" rule (which i generally believe in; it really is a terrible genre filled
with kids who have no idea how to write an interesting song). well, this certainly isnt bad. it
fits well within the deathcore genre with the alternating high screams and low growls, chugging
rhythm guitar, and breakdowns. but they manage to stand ahead of other deathcore bands by not
dwelling on bland, redundant breakdowns. there are plenty of breakdowns here, but they rarely
overstay their welcome, and most of the breakdowns that do come along are doing more than chugging
on one note. not only that, but the songs flow into the breakdowns naturally, a problem most
deathcore bands have trouble with (because, like i said, they cant write a fucking song). not a
lot on this record is particularly memorable, and theyre not doing anything progressive or new (i
have no idea where some of these other people are picking up on "progressive", "experimental", or
even "psychedelic" influences...this album does not have any of that), but the performances from
each member are enough to make this a deathcore record worth hearing. they bring that simplistic,
chugging brutality that is characteristic of deathcore without being a breakdown-fest.

| 4.5 superb | TheFallenKing | June 28th 12 | Non-Repetitive, Heavy, Fast, Progressive and at times shows a hint of psychedelic deathcore . Band has an unbelievable amount of potential which i absolutely hope to be see used in the future, considering this band skyrocketed to my favorite death metal/core band.

| 3.0 good | AFCJordan | August 6th 11 | rSome parts of this record are lightning fast, while other parts are slower, the slow parts are often breakdowns along with distant guitar melodies and death growls. Yeah, i hate breakdowns too, but not the ones from this band, probably because of the raw-sounding guitars and the evilness of their music itself.rThat up there alone should tell everyone that your summary isnt to be trusted. you sound like a 15 year old metal head. Yes i like this album and yes it is better than most deathcore out there today it brings nothing new to music. its good but could be so much better

| 0.0 | Tyrael | January 6th 11 | Finally a deathcore album that is enjoyable all the way until the end! The guitar playing is great, doesn't rely on breakdowns(yay!), and the vocals are very fitting to the songs.
