Very solid release from one of the most interesting modern death metal bands out there.

Not as good as Oracles. Not enough new material.
The production of this CD was completely butchered. I'm pissed I paid money for it. Seems it was made from poor quality, lossy masters and the tracks are highly clipped.
Shame this happened, but oh well it's only an EP (and not a great one). Hopefully they're working on a full-length and hopefully the production on that isn't butchered.

Hyperblasting can't cover up a lack of interesting songwriting. Nor can it improve an At the Gates cover song (like, really?).

Given how dense and overbearing this material is, it's perfectly suited to the EP format. In the three songs we get more than our fair share of technical and brutal riffing as well as orchestral interludes and operatic vocals. The cover of At the Gates is fun if not terribly relevant and the instrumental outro wraps it all up neatly and elegantly.

This EP is excellent. The first track is probably the best song they've done, a twisting, brutal, groovy and unrelenting song that exemplifies what death metal today should sound like. The rest is solid, and the At the Gates cover is well-done. If you liked Oracles, get this.

Really awesome EP. Yes, it's short, but its so so sweet, or in this case, sour and brutal as hell. The first song
shows the band's development from "Oracles" with the clean vocals in the chorus - one of my biggest
complaints from "Oracles" was that the songs didnt vary that much, the doublebass just pounded on and on
and the singer growled with a few classical music interludes. Im not usually a clean vocal fan but they fit
well in this song. The other songs are awesome also, especially the cover of Blinded by Fear by At the Gates.
If you are an ATG fan this EP is worth a purchase for this song alone. I could do without the italian movie
lines or whatever that play in the second song, but the incredible guitar riffing that occurs after them is
insane. If you liked "Oracles" at all, even one song, listen to this shit.
