On EXS, Uberbyte decides to create a collection of songs, each consisting of a beat, a recycled synth line, and then a repeating sample. Such a combination may sound like your typical industrial tune, but on EXS the mediocrity is magnified tenfold due to old ideas being used. While not great, Uberbyte's previous album, Dos, had a much more original feel, while EXS sounds like the same crap but even worse. The beats are stale and the samples are just annoying. In the songs that contain actual vocals, they don't really help that much especially if you take a listen to the chorus in The Lie; it contains a blood curdling scream that just sounds so wrong.
